Home Health Aide / HHA

83 Hours

Personal and home-care aides help the elderly, disabled, ill, and/or mentally disabled. Patients live at home or in residential care facilities rather than in health-care facilities or institutions. Personal and home-care aides work with clients who need more extensive care than family or friends can provide. Excellent job opportunities and rapid employment growth are expected in this field.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

125 Hours

Nursing aides provide hands-on care and perform routine tasks under nursing and medical staff supervision. Aides handle many aspects of patient care; helping patients eat, dress and bathe. They answer calls for help, deliver messages, serve meals and make beds. Aides may be responsible for taking patients’ temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, weight and/or blood pressure. They assist patients in walking, getting into and out of bed, escorting them to operating and examining rooms, or providing skin care. Aides help other medical staff by setting up equipment, storing and moving supplies and assisting with procedures.

Phlebotomy Technician
55 Hours

A phlebotomy technician draws blood samples from patients or blood donors, and prepares specimens for medical testing. Many patients experience anxiety with blood and needles; sometimes drawing blood can be the most difficult part of an office visit. The phlebotomy technician must create an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients while drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and reliable manner.
